Fined £90.69m on 8 July 2021
On 8 July 2021, the Financial Conduct Authority (the “Authority”) has imposed a financial penalty on Lloyds Bank General Insurance Limited, St Andrew’s Insurance Plc, Lloyds Bank Insurance Services Limited and Halifax General Insurance Services Limited (“LBGI”). The reason for this action is because between 1 January 2009 and 19 November 2017, LBGI breached Principle 3 (Management and control) and Principle 7 (Communications with clients) of the Authority’s Principles for Businesses in relation to the way it communicated with home insurance customers at renewal. As a consequence of this action, LBGI received a financial penalty of £90,688,400 pursuant of section 206 of the Act. The FCA’s action took effect on 8 July 2021 and a copy of the Final Notice is displayed on the FCA's web site.
The Financial Ombudsman Service only publishes complaint figures for firms with 30 or more new complaints in six months, so there are none here for this firm.
